Kauehi Atoll
Geography
Kauehi is an atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago. It is 24 km long and 18 km wide.
Other names: Putake, Vincennes.
Location: 15°52′S 145°8′W. The nearest land is Raraka Atoll, located 17 km to the Southeast.
Area: 15 km² (land) and 321 km² (lagoon)
Population: 257 (2012)
Largest settlement: Tearavero

History
13 November 1835 – The first recorded European visit. The atoll is visited by captain Robert FitzRoy.
31 August 1839 - Kauehi was later visited by the historic United States Exploring Expedition
2001 - Domestic airfield was inaugurated.
