Aratika Atoll
Geography
Aratika is an atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago. It is 20 km long and 11 km wide. The lagoon is wide and deep and can be entered by two navigable passes.

Location: 15°32′S 145°32′W. The nearest land is Kauehi Atoll, located 35 km to the south-east.
Area: 8.3 km² (land) and 145 km² (lagoon)
Population: 160 (2012)
Largest settlement: Paparara

History
March 1824 - Otto von Kotzebue visited the atoll as the first European.
September 1838 - Jules Dumont D'Urville visited Aratika.
September 1839 - Charles Wilkes visited the atoll.
