Geography
Toau is an atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago (Palliser
subgroup). The lagoon is 35 km long and 18 km wide.

Taha-a-titi, Elizabeth
Location: 15°49′S 146°0′W. Toau lies about 14 km from
Fakarava atoll.
Area: 12 km² (land) and 561 km² (lagoon)
Population: 18 (2012)

April 1774 – James Cook
discovered the atoll for Europe.

July 1820 - Fabian
Gottlieb von Bellingshausen visited the atoll.

1838 – The atoll was visited by Jules Dumont d'Urville.
