Tepoto Sud Atoll
Geography
Tepoto Sud is an atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago. It measures 3.8 kilometres in diameter. This atoll is sometimes called Tepoto Sud in French, to distinguish it from the island of Tepoto, approximately 400 kilometres to the northeast in the Disappointment Islands.
Another name: Ti Poto.
Location: 16°48′S 144°16′W. It is located 44 km southwest of Makemo Atoll.
Area: 0.6 km² (land) and 2.5 km² (lagoon)
Population: Uninhabited.

History
1768 - Tepoto Sud was sighted by French explorer Louis-Antoine de Bougainville.
1820 - The first European to land on the atoll was Russian explorer Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen.
The 19th century - the atoll is identified as being the site of buried treasure stolen by four adventurers from a church in Pisco, Peru.
