Geography

Tuanake is an atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago. It is 9.5 km long and 6.5 km wide.

Another name: Mata-rua-puna

Location: 16°40′S 144°13′W. Tuanake is located only 7.5 km to the northwest of Hiti Atoll.

Area: 6 km² (land) and 26 km² (lagoon)

Population: Uninhabited.

1820 - The first recorded European to sight Tuanake was Russian explorer Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen.
